Terri and Josh’s Golden Gate Canyon State Park engagement session in Golden, CO was the perfect mix of all of life’s favorite things… mountains, bubbly, pizza picnics, a cute pup and Colorado fall foliage. Terri had inquired with us on a Tuesday and by Sunday we were heading to their engagement session. They wanted fall color and we were at the tail end of Aspen color change so we had to work quick to find some gold. We went on a hunt and ended up finding Golden Gate Canyon State Park which is about 30 miles outside of Denver and a great escape from the city (and cell reception) with 35 miles of scenic trails to play on.

I already had a personal relationship with them as Elizabeth’s family has been close friends with Mike’s (hubby) family for decades. In the past we’d had a few dinners and shared wine together but this was the first time I got to hang out with the two of them on their own and get to see their playful flirty and funny personalities as a couple really shine. We had kicked around a ton of ideas on where to photograph knowing that no matter what it had to be in the Colorado mountains. We started googling the phrase vail engagement session and ended up finding Officers Gulch and Shrine Pass out between Vail and Copper mountain and while none of us had been there we all agreed it was the perfect adventure for their photos.
